Occupational Therapy Brentwood

Occupational therapy centers on helping clients develop skills that improve independence and social motivation.  Omix Therapies helps clients adapt to their environment and provide them with the tools needed to accomplish short and long-term goals.

Purpose Of Occupational Therapy

The primary goal of occupational therapists are to minimize the impact of physical conditions and improve autonomy.  We provide dynamic activities that promote successful environmental and social interactions.  Omix Therapies works with several occupational therapists who are partnered with local organizations to treat development and functional conditions.

An intervention program can be provided based on prior exams and results.  Patients enrolled in the program can attain the necessary skills and abilities to lead independent lives and perform fundamental tasks.  Our therapy sessions reduce influences from both the environment and physical conditions.

Our Beverly Hills occupational therapy program covers the following components:

  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Gross Motor Skills
  • Sensory Functions
  • Personal Social Skills
  • Visual Motor Skills
  • Daily Living Activities
  • Perceptual Skills

We work with a collaborative approach in order to develop the skills necessary of individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives.  In addition, we provide wheelchairs and walkers to physicians to assist their patients in acclimating to the environment.  You can find more information about our occupational therapy services by calling us at (310) 933-1265.

Goals Of Pediatric Physical Therapy

The overall objective of physical therapy is to help your child interact with the world with the greatest possible range of motion and the least possible pain and discomfort. To that end, there are specific skills and traits that we work to improve in physical therapy:

  • Range of motion: How far the joints can bend or extend
  • Strength: How well the muscles resist gravity
  • Balance: The ability to stand or sit upright and to resist from falling
  • Reflexes: Particularly autonomic responses seen in infants such as grasping
  • Posture: The proper alignment of the body
  • Gait: A stable and painless walking motion

To achieve these goals, we employ techniques ranging from neuromuscular electrical stimulation to physical exercises such as Pilates and therapeutic strengthening and stretching. You will be involved in every aspect of the process, helping us develop a treatment plan that fits with your child’s physical and emotional needs.
